Patan City

Patan city is one of the important part of Kathmandu. It is located in the south part of Kathmandu Valley. Patan city is one of the city of Lalitpur district. It is the ancient area of Nepal. It carries Nepalese Ancient History. In the very past time, this city was one of the state of Nepal. The Malla King divided Kathmandu Valley into different three states. Out of them, Patan was one. The old name of Patan is "Yala" which is called in Newari Language as Patan. It has so many tourist places like Patan Durbar Square, Kumbeshwor, Golden
Temple, Maha Boudha etc. These all are the main tourist places of Kathmandu Valley. Patan Durbar Square is the olden artistic palace of Malla King. There is a Krishna Temple which has been built in artistic form. It is said that Krishna Temple has been built with the help of a single stone. Really, this temple is made from stone. It has 21 pinnacles. This city is the headquarter of Lalitpur District. It has many government district offices. The district administration has been run from this city. Trade, business, industry and education have been also developed in this city. The heart of Patan there is the majority of Newar people. The celebrate different "Jatra" mainly in the yard of Patan Durbar Square.
